HiI have a slim PS2 SCPH-75004. I bought it in 2006, which is when it was modded too.
A friend of mine got it done so idk which chip it is.Anyways, i wanted to know if it is possible to start-up ulaunchelf from my 4gb usb pendrive (fat32 formatted). I downloaded uLaunchELFv4.42a and copied its contents to the pendrive. The ps2 dint seem to recognize it. The light of the pendrive dint light up either when plugged into the ps2.Tried it with another 512mbpendrive (fat32 quick-formatted) and got the same result, except the light of the pendrive did light up a bit.I would like to use ulaunchelf in order to use sms to listen to music and watch movies.I'm a newbie at this, Please help! Thanks a lot!
Hi I have a Playstation2 of slim model SCPH 90004 which is modded (MATRIX INFINITY)My laser disc is not working now, but i can play games using pendrive and ps2 memory card.My question is i dont have ulaunchelf FILE browser to copy data from pendrive to ps2memory card and from memory card to pendriveI have tried many different methods like converting ulaunchelf iso file using USBUTILL and when i insert the pendrive in playstation nothing comes up.Can someone here help me out to use file browser in ps2.Thanks in advance. You say that you are able to play games. I'm guessing you use the dev1 mode of your modchip to launch OPL from your memory card.
Depending on what version of OPL you have, it might be possible to launch an elf file from USB or over network. As far as I know, you can't launch an elf file from USB with Matrix Infinity. Only from Memory card or internal HDD. Your easiest option would be to get a Free McBoot memory card. Then use your modchip to launch ULaunch from it. It should have the right name and be in the right location. Click to expand. You need to know what you are using to load your games.
Bootcamp drivers windows 7 64 bit imac. Is it OPL, ESDL or USB Advance/Extreme? Does it not have a flash screen or version number!Your only options are: 1.
Your using OPL and use that to load uLaunch from USB. Your modchip is a Modbo5 and you use that to load uLaunch from USB.
You find a way of getting a BOOT folder on your memory card with a BOOT.ELF (uLaunch) inside it. Free McBoot, a friend with a working CD drive and a game save manager. A game save manager or elf file loader that works with your game loader. How do you you start your USB game loader?
Have you got it set to autoboot or do you hold R1 when you switch your console on?Put your Free McBoot memory card in slot 1. It should load uLaunch instead of your game loader.
Your modchip will look for a BOOT folder with a BOOT.ELF (uLaunch) inside it and attempt to load it. You can then use uLaunch to load Free McBoot.Edit: You will probably find that Free McBoot is not compatible with your console. Thats not a problem though.
You just need the BOOT folder with the BOOT.ELF inside it. When I say not compatible, I mean it won't load on your console without your modchip. What ever you do, DO NOT delete the BOOT folder from your memory card.
Click to expand. Not sure if you're referring to Free McBoot or his modchip. I don't think the quick launch feature of Free McBoot will work on his console as he has one of those scph-9000x consoles that Sony done away with the update feature.
Maybe if he times it right, after launching Free McBoot with uLaunch. With Free McBoot you can name the elf files whatever you like, you just have to edit the config file so they show up on your OSD & work with your quick launch keys. It makes sense to have uLaunch called BOOT.ELF and in a BOOT folder as alot of homebrew expects it to be there.
There are some SCPH-90000 series that will support FMCB, but there are also some that will not. Please don't mislead people into thinking that FMCB will work on incompatible models. We have to be clear that while it can be done, it is not FMCB working on its own. There are some indicators, like the date code and the chassis model, but no definite pattern has been found.
The only accurate way of determining whether FMCB is supported, is to dump the boot ROM and check ROMVER.There exists launchers to boot FMCB on unsupported models, but this usually depends on the capabilities of the modchip. But imagine if you wrote that FMCB worked on all SCPH-90004 PS2s - people who have the wrong SCPH-90004 will be scratching their heads, wondering why it wouldn't work.
You need to be clear that for such a case, we need the right modchip and additional software (not part of FMCB).If you don't know, there are some SCPH-90004 models that will support FMCB, without a modchip. Crysis warhead bin64 crackers. The 04 in SCPH-90004 is just the region (Europe), which is not related to the model of PS2.But don't worry too much! I wrote about it, just for completeness.
